Dr Chris Ciukiewicz

MB ChB (equiv.) (Lublin, Poland 1999), Diploma in Family Medicine (Lublin, Poland 2006)

Dr Ciukiewicz trained and practiced medicine initially in Poland and then moved to Plymouth in 2007.He has a special interest in dermoscopy, the examination of skin lesions with a dermatoscope and besides medical practice he enjoys windsurfing, travel and music.

Dr Peter Rudge

MBBch (Cardiff, 1998) BSc (Hons) MRCP MRCGP

Dr Rudge qualified in medicine in Cardiff in 1993 before returning to Plymouth in 1998 as a General Practitioner. He spent many years setting up GP services and held a number of senior positions across health and social care during his time as a commissioner. He joined the surgery in 2015, works Monday to Thursday and has an interest in family medicine and engagement in service development.

Dr Peter Cranefield

MBChB (Leicester 2004) MRCS MRCGP

Dr Peter Cranefield studied medicine at Leicester University and qualified in 2004. He worked as a junior doctor for 6 years, working in emergency medicine, surgery and psychiatry before training as a GP in Plymouth. His interests include gastroenterology, minor surgery and care of those with dementia and learning difficulties. He works on a Monday, Thursday and Friday and regularly out of hours with Devon Doctors.

Dr Rachel Leyland


Dr Leyland qualified in Cambridge in 1990 and has interests in General Medicine, managing mulit-morbidity (multiple co-existing chronic conditions) and Medical education, working in Plymouth Medical School alongside General Practice.

Dr Fatou Mbow

Medical Degree (State Exam, 1997, Italy), MRCGP, DFFP

Born in Paris, Dr Mbow studied medicine in Rome and trained in general practice in London. She worked extensively in humanitarian health in most countries in sub-Saharan Africa, a way for her to complete a medical training she found not holistic enough. In understanding disease, Dr Mbow is particularly interested in how mental health affects biology, and vice-versa. Her mother tongues are Italian and French, and on top of English, she also speaks Wolof.

Dr Agnieszka Ostalowska

MBChB ( equiv.) - Szczecin , Poland 1996.

Dr Ostalowska qualified in medicine in Poland in 1996. She moved to Plymouth in 2005 and initially worked as a junior doctor in orthopaedics. She has interest in General Medicine and Paediatrics. She can consult in Polish, Russian and English. Her personal passion is art (oil painting).

Nurse Practitioners

Our nurse practitioners offer patients advice on the management of minor and acute ailments, prioritising the urgency of patients’ complaints, and dealing with them where appropriate or referring them to the doctor. They are also able to prescribe certain medication.

Our nurses are available for advice and treatment on the management of minor illnesses, wound dressings, ear syringing, general immunisation, the management of asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke in addition to family planning, cervical cytology, stop smoking programmes and health promotion generally. Our treatment rooms are all well equipped and have a range of educational matter for patients to take away with them.

Our receptionists always strive to provide a caring and efficient service. They will always do their best to assist when queries arise but sometimes may need to ask further questions to help both you and the doctor. You can be quite certain that any information given to the Receptionist will be treated with total confidentiality.

Community Nurses

The District Nursing Service provides home based care for housebound patients with acute, chronic or serious illnesses and for those who need post-operative care. District nurses can advise on incontinence and home nursing aids.

Health Visitors

Plymouth and Devon Health Visiting Services look after patients registered at our two surgeries. They are available for all ‘well’ babies and children under five for advice. Lisson Grove patients can contact the HV service on 01752 435169. Woolwell patients living in the Plymouth boundary can use 01752 434188. Devon HV services provision is being restructured but our Woolwell patients living outside the Plymouth boundary can use the same number and will be redirected if appropriate.
